Since the inception of this organisation we have carried out numerous outreaches through our mobile dental clinics especially in the western and the south west regions . Current we are collaborating with Colgate under the ‘Colgate bright smiles bright futures’ program to carry out schools oral health educations in the northern regions of the country where the oral health needs are very high and in the littoral, western and the English speaking regions of Cameroon. In collaboration with Emmanuel total dental care, we have also been providing short training to oral health care personnel in specialized dental care.
Water Sourcing –In collaboration with our international donor and technical support Engineers, we have design systems to supply Clean Fresh Water and purified water to communities.This include the constructions of bore holes, development of water catchment areas,connection of clean and good drinking pipe borne waters to communities that don't have water. Water defloridation and safety in the northern part of Cameroon and Nigeria
We have been giving health education to young girl and women of child bearing areas through our women’s education and empowerment programs. These include women’s hygiene, natural birth control techniques, nutrition, early marriages and family health. Bearing in mind that women are the wheel of development in both the home and the community at large. We have been actively been involved in women’s empowerment at all levels of education and vocational training. Our vocational training and skills acquisitions programs empower these young girls and women to become independent entrepreneurs and scholarships for advanced education and careers development.Special emphasis has been placed on needy widows, internally displaced and female orphans who are very vulnerable.
This is our largest program that has affected the lives of more than 900 000 Cameroonian children .Over the past 14 years we have carried our oral health education in primary schools all over the country . Our partners such as dent-aid in the UK started our schools oral health program that ended in 2012 with 10 000 children enrolled in our program. During this period we carried out atraumatic restorative treatments in 30 primary schools in the North west and South west regions of the country ,school brushing education and referred more than 800 children that required urgent oral treatments. Provide oral health education and sensitization consultation and treatment of patients in villages, schools and remote areas and emergency dental reliefs.
Grace Medical Foundation holds educational forums with provision and distribution of basic medications, social assistance to HIV/AIDS patients every three months as part of our training and sensitization programs for PLWH. So far we have achieved great success in this domain by providing free HIV testing and screening in the form of voluntary counseling and testing. Spiritual support is also provided as the need arises. We have also been able to develop and construct Rapid Response Emergency Clinics with state-of-the-art equipment for testing and treatment of Hypertension, Diabetes, Cancer, Malaria, and other health complications using a combination of conventional and advance natural herbal medicine.
Grace medical foundation has trained 360 nurses since 2001.We have successfully built them up as nurses and midwives after a three years intensive classroom work and hospital practical. Our Theatre Nursing and midwifery training school has graduated 362 students who are today working with the government while others are working in private hospitals in the country. We started a nursing school in Muyuka , South west region of Cameroon to training nurses and community health working since the inception of this organisation. The current political instability in the area has closed the school for more than 4 years. We intend to upgrade our training facilities in a safe and serene environment where we could build a teaching hospital and a state of the are hospital with all specialists services.
